Positive thinking

Naawwww arent these just the cutest?!!

I'm feeling much better and more positive today - Thanks everyone for their lovely comments... you guys make my day! I think I'm just going through a few days at work that have been less than positive - it just gets you down sometimes. Thankfully the sore throat disappeared after a day - so yay - hopefully I've avoided the bug!

I got up on Wednesday morning thinking "man I really HATE leg day" and then I had to keep changing it to "I sooo LOVE leg day!!" because I hate it when I get negative thoughts. But I just wasn't in the mood, and kept catching myself being negative. Of course I still went and did my workout, all the while telling myself that I just LOVE leg day (but still not really believing myself). Not sure if it worked. I've been a bit lacking in energy this week, so that didn't help. Mind you, I couldn't sleep last night because both my quads and hammies were aching like you wouldn't believe. They're sore today, but I'm not crippled. Oh well.

Now that the weather is turning a little cooler I'm having a bit more trouble getting out of bed. I'm like - nooooo just 5 more minutes sleep!!!! Thankfully I have set my alarm clock a full 5 minutes fast, so I lie in bed thinking "its 5.15am - I have got to get out of bed" and then when I get up and get dressed and look at the clock in the bathroom, its still 5.15!! Clever huh?!!! :-)~ Luckily I'm not smart enough to figure out that 5 minute difference while I'm still in bed (cos I'm still 75% asleep at the time!) The things we do!

I found out yesterday that I have to go to Cairns next Tuesday night for work (yes I have to give up part of my public holiday) for two days, and I'll be in a hotel with no gym, and I'll have no car!! So - jogging along the esplanade it's going to have to be!

I've got a bit more travel on the horizon too - I'm having a weekend in Canberra in a couple of weeks time to visit my brother and his little family, and where I shall be meeting Bel, who was my first successful mentoree with Sue - cant wait!! Then in June I'm going to be somewhere in Victoria (the place is yet to be decided) for two weeks helping out one of our branches when we go-live with our new computer system. Yes I get to experience Winter in Victoria again - love it!

Time to go visit some blogs!

You crack me up Hilary - I do that with the alarm clock! I think Im so smart for tricking my brain that early in the morning! LOL (like its that hard anyway!!

I didnt know you have been feeling flat (sorry)(need to do some back-reading) but am pleased you conquered any tonsilitis...I had to push through a similar situation this week!

Running along the esplanade in Cairns sounds nice (was it Cairns? - cant go back to check without losing this post)How much cardio do you do a week? The weather has been so poo here lately I cant even imagine walking out to my mail box (sad I know...!!) xxx

Hi Mandy - I find it exciting too when I see that other people read my blog! Thanks for your thoughts!

Bella yes it was Cairns that I'm going to - and running along the Esplanade is the plan. (As long as that pesky new cyclone has gone of course!). Normally I do about 4 x 30min cardio sessions, and 2 x 60min sessions per week, varying the intensity. This seems to be enough to maintain the results I got, while still enjoying the odd treat!

And I'm glad to see that I'm not the only looney that does the alarm clock thing! Thanks Ali and Bella for making me feel like I'm not such a weirdo!!

I cant believe that Little Rene can blog whilst a passenger in the car! Technology just moves to fast for me! (lol - I'm sounding old!!)

I totally do the alarm clock thing too! It is so funny how you can know that your clock is fast... but every morning you forget!!!

LMAO!! You are so not alone Hilary!! We ALL do it... even my watch is set forward because I'm nearly always running late with everything I cram into a day. I always set them a weird amount forward, like 13 minutes or something and then set the alarm at 4.36, an my poor little sleepy brain in the morning can't calculate what time it is properly and normally trying to wakes me up anyways!!

Glad to hear you're feeling better!! xxx

Hi Hilary, reading for inspiration and came across your blog. You look wonderful!, sick and all ;)
Just working on getting leaner & mixing up my workouts. Nice to read how others accomplish their goals. Good luck!
