One week to go!

Me with Elke in December 2005.

Firstly just wanted to say thanks to everyone for dropping in to my blog! Thanks Rae, Kat, Bella and Selina for your lovely comments!

I'm feeling a little better today - but still feel like I've been hit by a truck! Zero energy, but definetely feel like I'm on the mend. Quite a few people I've spoken to have said that they've had similar symptoms to mine, so I now think that I have had some sort of bug (rather than just a simple upset stomach).

Well, one week to go! Cant believe how fast its gone! I'm gonna blitz it this week, no nasty little bug is going to stop me. I'm not doing the depletion diet this week. I'm not having professional photos done this time (just getting them done at home) so Sue has suggested I double my water 7 days out (thats today - 6 litres - yeeehaah!), and cut out sodium 3 days before photos. But I can still eat normally (I'm alternating high/low carb days at the moment) so that's a bonus!

The one recurring thought I've been having this week is "I cant wait to finish this programme so I can have a few days off training". There's been no thoughts of "I cant wait to eat such-and-such when I finish" and this is a huge change in mindset for me. I've come a long way, I do have to say - ! (Much credit to Sue and Rae!) Last year I was developing habits that have now become second nature to me. Quite happy to say that last night my partner was eating KFC, and I had absolutely no desire to eat it. It didn't even smell nice.

Well, its Sunday so I'd best be off and get prepared for the week ahead!

Hi Hilary! Found you through Rae's blog.

Welcome to blogging and well done on everything that you've achieved so far - you look fantastic, esp. that bikini shot! I'd like to have some photos like that taken once I reach goal too!

I'd be very interested to hear your story - about what life was like for your before you met Rae and Sue.

All the best and I look forward to seeing you reach your goals!

Hi Philippa! Thanks for the welcome... still trying to get the hang of this "blogging" thing!

Life before Rae and Sue was pretty unstructured, I trained and ate, but without any real idea of how to get where I wanted. I was quite a binge eater too, so its fantastic for me to have had such a change in attitude towards food!

Good luck with reaching your goals too!

Welcome to blogland Hilary :) I must say that your arms look great in that picture!!!

I have a completely non-fitness related question for you.... I see that you have a cat and a malamute.... I have two cats and desperately want to get a malamute but had heard that you can't have both as the malamute stillvery much have their hunting instinct - how do yours get on? Any problems??? I got very excited when I saw you had both!

Hi Beki!

The Malamute originally was my partners, and the cat originally was mine (but now they're both OURS) and unfortunately you are right - the Malamute still has the hunting instinct. My cat stays inside, and the dogs stay outside. They do occasionally meet (sometimes we let the dogs in for a treat) but we can never leave them unattended. Elke (the Border Collie) is no problem, she and the cat used to play together. Shavez has chased the cat a few times (once he even got his mouth around him), but he's not too bad if you watch him, but the cat is so naughty and struts his stuff in front of him!

I dont know how they would be together if you got a pup - you can train them right from the start then - it might be a different story and they might just love each other!

Thanks Em for your comments, and thanks for adding me to your blog! Am definetely looking forward to checking everyone elses blogs out!

Hi! I also stumbled across your blog through Raes.. I am in week 10 of a 12 week challenge and have also had some amazing results! I've lost 7kgs so far- have not done a measure in a while but know I am shrinking from how loose my clothes are feeling!

Congratulations on achieving such great results! Keep up the good work!
