Tired

OMG I am sooo tired. I just cant catch up on my sleep, and I wake up feeling worse than I did when I went to sleep. Last night it tried to storm, and it was so windy that I kept waking up hearing stuff falling on the roof. This morning I am overcome with guilt, because I was too exhausted to get up and go to gym. I cant wait for this holiday, although it probably wont be much of a rest! 25 days to go!

Training is going well, eats are going well too - although I struggled last night to keep it clean. Sugar was calling me, but I managed to ignore it. Blah. I'm staying strong, and beginning to feel a lot leaner. I think my arms are showing much more definition, although the scales and measurements arent moving all that dramatically.

On Sunday morning when I was doing my weekly groceries, I got to the register and had one of those "hmmm" moments. The young guy at the register picks up my bag of snow peas... looks at me quizzically and asks "are these beans?"

"no, snow peas"....

He then picks up my cucumber and says "this is a cucumber, yeah?"

"yes" I said, thinking; does this boy not eat vegetables? He then picked up my leek - and all he had to do was hesitate and look at me, so I jumped right in saying "its a leek".

"A leek?... how do you spell that?"

hmmmmmmm. Maybe it was his first day? It really makes me wonder how anyone could get to the age of 17 and NOT know what all this stuff is!!! OK I'll grant him that a leek probably isn't your everyday vegetable, but the rest???

Tuesday I went to the eye specialist to find out about Implantable Contact Lenses (as i was unsuitable for Lasik) - and I'm now booked in to have it done - the 15th of March next year (the Ides of March, my dad tells me... is that a bad omen?) - my right eye gets done first, then a few weeks later the left gets done. Exciting and frightening all at the same time!!

Have a great Thursday!

Ahh - funny about the supermarket guy. I had a middle aged checkout lady ask me what herb I was buying the other day - it was parsley and the spiky style parsley at that! Who doesn't know what parsley is??
Good news about your eyes!
Have a great day hils,

I think some people live in vacuums. My kids don't eat many veggies but they know what they are. What do you think these people eat? I really hate it when some of these people are thin!!!!!!!!!!

The x-trail should be good but I know what you mean about the V8. Our first two cars were V8's and I loved them for exactly the same reasons.

Some people are not exposed to fruits & vegies like others, I have always taught my son about anything unusual I have bought in the fruit/veg line & he has a great understanding, but I really don't know how others can go & not eat them. Really!!

Congrats on the new car!! How wonderful it must be, plenty of room now hils.

Not long now till ur holiday, boy oh boy will the time just fly from now till then for you.

Have a great day.

He's prolly one of these guys who don't appreciate where food comes from and what goes into producing it. All he knows is that mum puts a plate of food infront of him and he eats it.

Hi Hilary, not long until your holiday now!! And congrats on the car. Very exciting.

I hope you have managed to have a nice break this weekend. I think sometimes you have to listen to your body and just rest.

gee I think that it is quite sad and strange that a young man wouldn't know what some basic vegetables were,

Hope you had an awesome weekend

We can all relate to the supermarket adventure - I've even had them ask me if I realize that there are other departments besides the colorful one in the front:)

Hope the surgery goes well for you - and get some sleep my friend:)

Andj its amazing isn't it? You'd think that if you worked in a supermarket you would get to know everything really quickly! Maybe she'd had a bad day?

Thanks Kerry - its good that your kids know what those vegies are, even if they refuse to eat them! Yes the V8's are impracticle with the price of fuel the way it is, but I really really miss the power!

Tracey i think we must all be a special breed of people who actually do eat other vegies! The new car is great, there is more boot room, but less cabin room!

Dave you are probably right!

Liz I'm sad to hear that I'm not the only one who's had that experience at the supermarket! Rocky was great, lots of time to train!

Thanks Rebecca, by Thursday I always feel shattered... then I need the weekend to catch up on sleep. Unfortunately it hasn't happened for the last few weeks, so I feel like I'm running on empty!

I think so too Ali, lets hope that he does actually eat some, maybe just doesn't know what they're called???

LOL Michelle, I know what you mean! Half the trolley is filled with the fresh stuff!
