Bad News

Its bad news from the vet. They took a biopsy of the tissue they removed from the back of Shavez's tail, and its turned out to be a malignant tumour.

We go back to the vet on Monday afternoon to get his stitches out, and also to find out what we can do. Basically I think we have to wait and see if it grows back or if it has spread. Of course, our animals are like our children, they are so much part of the family - we dont want to think the worst, but its hard to keep the fear out of your mind. I'm finding it difficult to stop getting emotional about it, there's been lots of weeping this week :(

Oh Hilary, my heart goes out to you. I share the love with my puppy that I know you feel for your pets. I can feel your sadness. Time to make yourself smile for a moment - imagine all the love and joy pup has bought to your life with licks, big doggy grins, cuddles and fun and games over the years! I hope things work out the best scenario possible for you.

I agree with Di. Those of us that only have four legged children would be lost without them. We spoil them rotten and treat them like two legged children.

I have everything crossed for you in hope that it turns out all for the best. Sending you vitural hugs

Hey Hils, thats not good! Tell Shavez he needs to get better so he can bark at me again. Heres to hoping that there some very positive feedback. Know how you feel, 'Fatdog' is on borrowed time with us, but the best borrowed time there is.

Hi Hilary,

that is terribly sad news and I feel for you even though I'm a cat owner and lover. My fingers are crossed that things work out for the best.

Hi Hilary,
What Sad news for you both. I hope that you and the vets can come to a good solution when you go back to see them.
Animals play such a big role in our lives.
Hugs and I hope everything works out.
ps. There is a specialist pet cancer vet over at Albany Creek in Brisbane's north - perhaps you could investigate if he could offer you anymore options - http://www.bvsc.com.au

Hi beautiful girl! I hope that the news is good as far as treatment goes with Shavez. You are so right about pets... they are definitely a member of the family and it hits just as hard when you get bad news about their health. Stay strong honey xxx
