One year ago today we said goodbye to our beautiful, fluffy boy Shavez.
So much has happened in a year. We still think of him all the time, and talk about him quite often. He was one of a kind, such a huge character - there will never be another one like him. I just wish that Skye had been able to meet her big "brother".
Is it normal to still be so sad over losing a pet, a year later? I look at photos of him and still crumple into tears.

Hi Hilary, was Shavez a husky? I've just got this thing for huskies right now. He is adorable and I don't blame you for still missing him

I completely understand Hilary. Having a companion for so many years, you get so close. I would be devestated if anything happens to my two little cats
I think it's quite normal to keep grieving for a pet. I still think of both our dogs- long gone now- and it can still make me cry. They give so much and are faithful to the end
He was your baby! Of course it is normal to grieve a loved one a year later. You will always miss him. Imagine all of the fun and laughter he bought to your life and feel yourself smile about his memory :)
Hope you are well Beautiful Lady!

Liz he was an Alaskan Malamute - bigger than a husky, less "whiney" too :)
Kristy they become part of the family dont they? Pets are such an important part of my life, sounds like your little kitties are too.
Thanks Linda, its not fair that we live so much longer than them - but at least we have our memories!
Thanks Di - good point, on a day like that we should be celebrating the memories of the good times!
Hilary xx
